Notice to Customers – Changes to Cheque Facility Terms & Conditions – Effective 22 August 2024

22/07/2024

MyState Bank cheque book facilities will cease 29 November 2024

The use of cheques continues to rapidly decline, with many preferring instead to pay their bills through digital means, such as online and mobile banking.

Like many banks, MyState Bank uses the services of a third-party to process cheques, and our provider recently announced, that due to declining cheque volumes, they are no longer able to offer this service.

Here’s what will change

22 August 2024

  • All cheque book facilities will not automatically re-issue replacement cheque books.
  • All cheque book facilities will not be able to order a new cheque book if your cheque book runs out.
  • If a cheque written by you has not been presented since August 2023 then your cheque facility will be closed.
  • If a cheque written by you has been presented since August 2023 then your cheque facility will remain open until 29 November 2024.

29 November 2024

  • All remaining cheque book facilities will be closed.
  • Any unpresented cheques you have written and have not been presented for payment will be dishonoured. You and your payee will need to arrange another method of payment.

We continue to provide a range of digital alternatives to cheques including electronic funds transfer (EFT), Visa Debit card, BPAY, PayID and Online Banking including our mobile app. For your alternative payment options go to mystate.com.au/changes-to-cheques

MyState Cheque Facility Terms & Conditions will be removed.
