MyState Foundation celebrates 25 years with a $25,000 Community Choice Award

The MyState Foundation is marking its 25-year anniversary by putting the power of giving, directly into the hands of Tasmanians, launching a one off $25,000 Community Choice Award to support young people across the state.
The award is in addition to the annual MyState Foundation grant round which has contributed almost $3 million to Tasmanian community organisations over the past quarter century.
To celebrate the milestone, the Community Choice Award invites Tasmanians to nominate and vote for a Tasmanian based, youth focused not for profit organisation they believe is making a positive difference in their community.
Nominations open today and will remain open for two weeks. Click here to nominate an organisation you think deserves this one off $25,000 grant.
The Community Choice Award recipient will be announced on 1 July 2026.
MyState Chief Executive Officer Brett Morgan said the Community Choice Award reflects the Foundation’s long standing commitment to investing in Tasmanian communities in a meaningful and inclusive way.
“For 25 years, the MyState Foundation has been our primary way of giving back to the communities we operate in by investing in better outcomes for young Tasmanians,” Mr. Morgan said.
“This Community Choice Award puts the spotlight on the incredible grassroots youth organisations doing vital work every day and gives Tasmanians a direct say in where this milestone investment goes.”
“We want as many people as possible to get involved - to nominate, to vote, and to champion the organisations they believe are shaping a brighter future for young people.”
Chair of the MyState Foundation Bob Gordon said the award recognises not only the Foundation’s history, but the collective impact of community led support for young Tasmanians over a quarter of a century.
“Since 2001, the MyState Foundation has partnered with community organisations to help young Tasmanians build confidence, skills and provide opportunities,” Mr Gordon said.
“Over that time, we have distributed $3 million in grants to more than 150 Tasmanian organisations, supporting hundreds of initiatives right across the state.”
“The Community Choice Award is a fitting way to mark 25 years - by celebrating our history while backing the next generation of organisations that will create lasting impact for our young Tasmanians well into the future.”
