Just Wave and Go
Visa payWave is the latest payment technology that lets you pay faster with less hassle. The technology built into your card allows you to
pay instantly, by waving your card over a secure contactless terminal at participating stores. There’s no swiping or fumbling for
cash. You just Wave and Go and you’re ready to go in just a few seconds.
Why Visa payWave?
For purchases under $100, you can use payWave to save you valuable time. And don’t worry, you can still use your card for purchases over
$100, you just need to enter your PIN.
Because your card never leaves your hand, there is less chance of someone getting hold of it. Each Visa Debit payWave card features a
‘smart’ chip which is virtually impossible to copy, giving you maximum protection against fraud.
Remember, a limit of 10 payWave transactions per day applies – please read our Terms and Conditions for Visa Debit for more
Where can I use Visa payWave?
You can use payWave at Bunnings, McDonalds, JB Hi-Fi and Caltex, and a range of other Australian retailers with your new Visa Debit
payWave card. More retailers are getting Wave & Go technology every day. Visa Debit payWave is accepted at more than 174,000 retail
locations in 31 countries so you can Wave & Go right around the globe.
Save transaction fees with a Visa Debit Card
Pressing ‘credit’ doesn’t mean you are paying by credit. By selecting ‘credit’ when paying with your Visa Debit card, your transaction is processed through Visa Asia Pacific which offers cardholders additional protection against unauthorised or fraudulent card activity.
Visa’s Zero Liability policy guarantees that Visa cardholders will not be liable for unauthorised transactions where they have not contributed to the loss through their actions or negligence, which includes transactions made through theft of the card or card fraud.
Visa’s Zero Liability policy covers the following transactions:
- When the ‘credit’ option is selected
- payWave transactions
- Phone and online transactions
- Overseas and domestic transactions when the ‘credit’ option is selected.
It does not cover ATM and EFTPOS transactions when cheque or savings is selected.
