Internet Banking Frequently Asked Questions
  1. How do I get my Access Code reset?

If you have forgotten your Access Code please call 138 001.

If you are able to login and you would simply like to change your code you can do this on both Internet and Phone Banking.

    • Internet Banking - log in to Internet Banking and click on Change Access Code.

    • Phone Banking - dial 138 001 and follow the prompts to change your Access Code.

  2. Is Internet Banking Secure?

We use a range of innovative security techniques to help protect your personal information.

For further information view the security page.

  3. Why is one of my accounts missing from Internet Banking

Your account is missing because it has not been linked to Internet Banking. Please call 138 001 and we will gladly set this up for you.

  4. Is there a limit on how much money I can transfer to another financial institution?

There is a limit of $5000 per membership per day. If you wish to increase the limit please call the MyState Financial Service Centre on 138 001.

  5. Why can't I transfer money out of my passbook account?

  6. I received a message asking me to install Adobe Flash player, what do I do?

You will receive this message if you do not have the latest Flash player installed. Clicking yes will upgrade your flash player to the latest version, enabling you to view animations and vector graphics on this and other web sites.

  7. When logging in my Access Code is automatically entered! Can everyone just log in as me?

AutoComplete is a function of Internet Explorer that allows the computer to remember your user name(s) and password(s). Internet Explorer will display this information only on the computer from which AutoComplete was enabled. It will not display your login details on another computer.

Please be aware that if this feature has been enabled, any person who uses the Internet on this computer may be able to log in without entering an Access Code.

To disable this function you will need to do the following:

    • Open up Internet Explorer.
    • Click on the Tools menu and click Internet Options.
    • Click the Content tab.
    • Under Personal information, click AutoComplete.
    • Click on Clear Forms and Clear Passwords.
    • If you wish to turn the feature completely off, un tick the Forms box and the User names and passwords on forms box.
    • Click OK, and OK again.

  8. When trying to Log In I receive an error and it redirects me to the login page, why is this happening?

If you receive a logged out message when attempting to log in to Internet Banking, it is likely that Cookies are not enabled on your computer.

Cookies are required for security purposes - so Internet Banking knows how long you have been logged in for and can log you out after 10 minutes of inactivity.

For more information see "What are the minimum system requirements?"

  9. What are the minimum system requirements?

    Web browsers

Following are the minimum browser versions supported for using Internet Banking:

    Internet Explorer 6.0 (Windows)
    FireFox 1.0 (Windows or Mac)
    Netscape 7.0 (Windows or Mac)
    Opera 8.0 (Windows or Mac)
    Safari 1.0 (Mac)

To download one of the browsers above, simply click on the link and follow the instructions on screen.

Internet Banking may work on earlier versions of the above software or on other browser types that have not been listed, however, these are the minimum supported types and versions.

We recommend that you use the latest version of a web browser as outdated browsers have bugs and limitations that may make using Internet Banking more difficult. Outdated browsers have security flaws. This is the reason why a list of minimum supported browser versions has been created.

    Browser Settings

Internet Banking uses JavaScript and therefore requires JavaScript to be enabled. If JavaScript is not enabled you will experience difficulties on the MyState Financial web site and you will not be able to login to Internet Banking.

Cookies must be enabled. For additional security Internet Banking accesses an additional secure server as part of the login process, so cookies must also be allowed for automatic redirection. That is, if there is a browser setting similar to only enable cookies for sites you navigate to, this should not be enabled.

    Firewalls

Certain firewall settings may prevent you from using Internet Banking. A firewall that is configured to block the http status code 302 will prevent access.

Most members will be able to access Internet Banking behind a corporate firewall. However the level of security of the firewall and your organisation's network will determine this. If you are having difficulties, check with your organisation's Network Administrator who may be able to offer advice.
