Our Process

Our philosophy at MyState Financial is to provide sound, effective advice, tailored to meet each individual client's circumstances, needs and objectives.

We'll examine your situation very closely and develop an individual strategy designed to help you achieve financial independence before and during your retirement.

The Initial Meeting

At your first meeting with one of our Financial Planners, we can begin to gather information we need to assess your circumstances and determine your financial objectives. This initial meeting is free of charge.

The initial meeting lasts no longer than one and a half hours. We recommend that you bring with you any financial statements and information, particularly those that relate to your superannuation, income and expenses. We may also ask you to supply further information at a later stage. If you decide to proceed to a written recommendation after this first free meeting, a minimum fee will be charged, which you must agree to pay before we continue.

Analysis and preparation of a written recommendation

We will strive to provide you with sound and effective advice that meets your objectives, circumstances and attitude to risk. This takes time and specialist expertise as we consider a number of different strategies and products to provide right advice for you.

During this stage, we analyse the information you have provided and develop your individually-tailored strategy. We then prepare a written recommendation called a Statement of Advice (SoA). This is an important document that will contain our recommendations, including your current situation which is based on the information you have provided us.

We will develop a tailored stragegy for you over a period of approximately two weeks, then contact you to arrange the next appointment.

Presentation of recommendation

We present our recommendations at the second meeting. This is your opportunity to ask questions and to advise us of any further relevant information.

If there are changes that must be made, we will prepare another SoA, although the timeframe will most likely be shorter.

You may also decide at this time to agree to and implement the recommended strategy.

Implementation

We assist you to complete any paperwork that is required to implement your strategy.

Review

At your request, we can contact you and arrange a review of your circumstances, investments and market conditions. If we identify any changes that impact on your financial situation, we will recommend appropriate alterations to ensure that your strategy remains in line with your situation.
