In 2013, more than 200,000 exhibitors and patrons attended the Festival, 40% of whom were from interstate or overseas. The Festival also injected an estimated $30m of direct spending into the local economy over just four days, with many visitors staying on to enjoy other parts of Tasmania. It’s estimated the total benefit to the broader Tasmanian economy was $80m.
With such significant benefits to our local economy and great national and international coverage, the Festival not only helps us put Tasmania on the map for visitors, it also drives local prosperity for the state – something we’re deeply committed to here at MyState.
This year’s Festival will see Parliament House Lawns once again transformed into the MyState V.I.K (Very Important Kids) Area– a fun-filled family friendly space with heaps of great activities and entertainment.
